_PARAGRAPH JOB_DESCRIPTION.SHARE.HTML Midland, Michigan Clerical/Admin Support 8:00 am•4:30 pm Regular Full-Time Day Shift Cardiology•Midland 46133 Job Description Summary This position is responsible for scheduling patient procedures and diagnostic testing in multiple medical centers. This position requires the collection of accurate demographic, insurance and diagnostic data elements. This position also requires a broad knowledge of Cardiology scheduling, registration and payer requirements necessary to secure payment. Responsibilities (60%)• Responsible for scheduling complex procedures including Stress Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI), Coronary Angiography (CTA), Cardiac Cath, Cardioversion, Electrophysiology Procedure (EP) Studies, Transesophageal echocardiography (TEE) with cardioversion, Patent Foramen (PFO), Atrial Septal Defect (ASD) Closure, Rental Stent, Pericardiocentesis, Carotid Stent, Peripheral Angiogram (AIRO), Inferior Vena Cava (IVC) Filter Removal, CardioMEMS, Valvuloplasty, Pacemaker & Generator change, Loop Recorder Implants & removals, Ablation procedures. Tilt Table, Watchman procedures & coordination of Tranocatheter Aortic Valve Replacement (TAVR) procedures with the TAVR MA for all Cardiology providers, obtain authorization when necessary. Procedures will be updated in EPIC, snap board and provider outlook calendars. Non-Complex scheduling including echo, holter, echo w/bubbles, definity (contrast) echo, stress echo, lexiscan, myoview, exercise echo, dobutamine echo, arterial Doppler, CTA abdominal aorta with runoff, CT, duplex ultrasound of abdominal vessels, ultrasound venous lower extremity, & cardiac MRI. (40%)• Assist with scheduling calls, managing EPIC work ques and in-basket messages, provide check out support, managing recall, & clinic travel as needed for all Cardiology providers. Completes and updates all forms including but not limited to patient demographic, Health Insurance Portability Accountability Act (HIPAA), Patient Provider Agreement (PPA), Medicare Secondary Payer (MSP) and consent for treatment.OTHER DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Adhere to established scheduling guidelines. Provide instructions to the patient regarding required preparation. All other duties as assigned.Certifications and Licensures N/A Required Education Education:

One year medical office experience in a Medical Center or similar setting required. Previous Cardiology experience preferred. Phone, listening, and interpersonal skills needed to communicate successfully with individuals and groups and interact with people at all levels to communicate ideas and concepts in a clear and understandable manner. Windows PC and Internet experience is required. Ability to work well in a team environment•cover coworker duties as needed, participate in department teams, offer suggestions for work flow improvement. Exposure to stressful situations, including those involving public contact, as well as, trauma, grief and death. Able to wear personal protective equipment that includes latex materials or appropriate substitute if required for your position. Is able to move freely about facility with or without an assisted device and must be able to perform the functions of the job as outlined in the job description. Overall vision and hearing is necessary with or without assisted device(s). Frequently required to sit/stand/walk for long periods of time. May require frequent postural changes such as stooping, kneeling or crouching. Some exposure to blood borne pathogens and other potentially infectious material. Must follow MyMichigan Health bloodborne pathogen and TB testing as required. Ability to handle multiple tasks, get along with others, work independently, regular and predictable attendance and ability to stay awake. Overall dexterity is required including handling, reaching, grasping, fingering and feeling. May require repetition of these movements on a regular to frequent basis.Physical Demand Level:
