Successful candidates demonstrate strong technical proficiency in obtaining high-quality EKG tracings, accurate electrode placement, and recognizing and escalating critical cardiac rhythms when appropriate. This role requires excellent communication skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work independently while remaining flexible and responsive to changing patient and departmental needs. As part of a collaborative diagnostic services team, you will work closely with nurses, physicians, and other healthcare professionals to support timely patient care and clinical decision-making. Reporting to the Department Supervisor III, you will be welcomed into a supportive culture that values teamwork, professional growth, and continuous learning. A caregiver in this position works days with variable start time. The shifts can start between 6 :00am and 11:30am depending on staffing needs. Weekend coverage is required (approximately every 5th weekend). A caregiver who excels in this role will: Position and connect leads from electrocardiograph machine to electrodes on specified body areas. Review patients record and instruct patients prior to procedures. Monitor patient during procedures and report any abnormal findings. Identify and correct for wandering, interference and artifacts. Edit and forward results to attending physician for analysis and interpretation. Maintain EKG equipment and supplies. Minimum qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include: High School Diploma or equivalent Six months of experience related to direct patient care or customer service OR completion of an accredited Cardiovascular Technology, Paramedic or Medical Assistant Program Preferred qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include: Healthcare experience Completion of an accredited
Cardiovascular Technology, Paramedic or Medical Assistant Program Physical Requirements:
Physical strength to assist patients into position for testing. Physical strength to transport equipment to various locations throughout the Cleveland Clinic facility. Extensive walking and standing.
Personal Protective Equipment:
Follows standard precautions using personal protective equipment as required.
Pay Range Minimum hourly:
$15.75 Maximum hourly: $21.65 The pay range displayed on this job posting reflects the anticipated range for new hires. A successful candidate's actual compensation will be determined after taking factors into consideration such as the candidate's work history, experience, skill set and education. The pay range displayed does not include any applicable pay practices (e.g., shift differentials, overtime, etc.). The pay range does not include the value of Cleveland Clinic's benefits package (e.g., healthcare, dental and vision benefits, retirement savings account contributions, etc.).
