An EKG Technician assists with specialized tests using an electrocardiogram machine, to monitor the performance of a patient's heart. Works under the direction of a physician or specialist. Explains test procedures to patients, sets up and runs equipment and monitors readings. Provides reports and readings from the test to a physician for analysis.
Job Details Performs outpatient routines and ambulatories, inpatient routines, and continuous monitoring. Reads/interprets continuous monitoring studies. Job Description 4 positions available: Day shift (9 am - 7:30 pm) 4 days/week Evening shift (7 pm - 7:30 am) 3 days/week Essential Functions Interacts with co-workers, visitors, and other staff consistent with the values of Jefferson. Properly performs EEG's, as requested, according to established procedures, as observed by a neurologist and the Director of EEG. Recognizes and eliminates causes of electrical interference, when necessary, to obtain optimal tracing as monitored by neurologist.
