What they do
An EKG Technician assists with specialized tests using an electrocardiogram machine, to monitor the performance of a patient's heart. Works under the direction of a physician or specialist. Explains test procedures to patients, sets up and runs equipment and monitors readings. Provides reports and readings from the test to a physician for analysis.

- Associate degree in radiologic sciences. Preferred
- Bachelor's degree in radiologic sciences. Work Experience Required
- None. Preferred
- 2 years of experience as an allied health professional. Certifications Required
- Basic Life Support (BLS) through the American Heart Association (AHA).
- Exerting 20 to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or 10 to 25 pounds of force frequently, and/or greater than negligible up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects.
