Duties Respond promptly to emergency calls and assess patient conditions with precision and confidence Provide essential life support techniques such as airway management, IV infusion, suturing assistance, and basic life support (BLS) procedures Stabilize patients during transport by monitoring vital signs, administering medications, and managing trauma or acute pain Operate medical equipment including ventilators, cardiac monitors, and EMR/EHR systems for accurate documentation of patient care Collaborate with dispatchers, emergency personnel, and hospital staff to ensure smooth handoff of patient information Maintain sterile techniques during procedures like venipuncture or catheter care to prevent infection Conduct thorough patient assessments utilizing anatomy knowledge and physiology expertise to inform treatment decisions Requirements Valid certification as a Certified Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) with current licensure in good standing Demonstrated experience working in emergency medicine or critical care environments such as Level I or Level II trauma centers or ICU settings Proficiency with EMR/EHR systems like Epic, Cerner, Athenahealth, or eClinicalWorks for accurate medical documentation Knowledge of medical terminology, ICD coding (ICD-9/ICD-10), and diagnostic evaluation techniques Experience administering injections, performing venipuncture, and managing airway devices such as ventilators Strong understanding of HIPAA regulations to ensure patient confidentiality and data security Ability to work effectively under pressure in high-stakes situations while maintaining a positive attitude and excellent communication skills This position is ideal for motivated individuals eager to deliver exceptional patient care across diverse healthcare settings.
