Job Description

Position Summary:
Under the leadership of the Director, Medical Imaging, the Transport Technician is an active member of the Medical Imaging team that delivers professional medical imagining services consistent with the strategic vision, goals, philosophy and direction of the department and CRHS. The Transport Technician escorts and transports patients to and from the Medical Imaging Department from designated areas in the hospital. This position is responsible for providing care within the scope of its training regarding the age of all patients, including geriatric, adult, adolescent, pediatric and infants.
Basic Qualifications Education :
High school diploma or equivalent.
Experience:
Requires up to three months of work-related experience, or any equivalent combination of education, training and experience.
Licensure, Registrations & Certifications :
This job does not require any professional or technical licenses, registrations or certifications.
Essential Job Responsibilities:
Assists patients to prevent accidents by falling, or transports non-ambulatory patients, using wheelchair or stretcher. Carries patients' personal items if needed. Identifies the patient by comparing the name and birthday as well as verifying identification by the patient's armband. Documents time of completion on patient at Nurses' Station and the Emergency Department when patient goes to Medical Imaging and upon return. Transports patients to the Medical Imaging Department in a timely and efficient manner. Stays with patient if technologist has to be out of the examination room. Participates in Medical Imaging Department's CQAI program. Demonstrates compliance with all rules and regulations of state, federal, and regulatory agencies as well as compliance with all hospital and departmental policies and procedures. Strives to provide safe work environment of care for patients, family, employee staff, and self through adherence to all organizational safety policies and procedures.
