Job Summary We are seeking a dedicated and energetic Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy (HBOT) Technician to join our dynamic healthcare team. In this vital role, you will operate hyperbaric chambers to deliver oxygen therapy that promotes healing and recovery for patients with various medical conditions. Your expertise will support patient care in a ground-breaking environment, collaborating closely with physicians and other healthcare professionals. The ideal candidate will possess a medical background such as EMT, paramedic, fire/rescue, RT, or other medical training; ensuring safe and effective treatment delivery while maintaining compliance with safety protocols and medical standards. Duties Prepare hyperbaric chambers and equipment for patient treatments, ensuring all devices are functioning correctly and safely. Monitor patients throughout therapy sessions, observing vital signs, patient comfort, and response to treatment. Assist with patient assessment, including reviewing medical histories, explaining procedures, and addressing patient questions to ensure understanding and comfort. Sit with patients through treatment sessions in the chamber, must be able equalize ears. Change wound dressings and assist patients with ambulation if necessary. Clean chamber and surrounding areas. Simple mechanical proficiency such as operating levers, changing oxygen tanks, and reading dials necessary. Collaborate with healthcare professionals to develop individualized treatment plans based on patient needs and physiology knowledge. Maintain accurate patient charts, document vital signs, treatment details, and any adverse events using electronic medical records (EMR/EHR) systems. Follow strict safety protocols related to hyperbaric medicine, and emergency procedures to prevent complications during therapy sessions. Qualifications Strong knowledge of physiology, anatomy, and medical terminology relevant to hyperbaric treatments. Prior experience operating hyperbaric chambers is highly desirable. Professionalism and compassion a must. Familiarity with EMR/EHR systems for patient charting and documentation. Ability to assess patients' vital signs accurately and respond swiftly to acute changes during therapy sessions. Outpatient or clinic experience involving hyperbaric medicine or wound care is advantageous. Excellent communication skills to collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary teams in inpatient or outpatient settings. CHT or higher a plus, must at least have chamber driver certification or eligible. Must be at least CPR/BLS certified. Timeliness and cleanliness a must.
