Job Description

ALSTAR EMS
is seeking a Casual EMT to join their team at our Dunkirk, NY ambulance station. This is a private ambulance company servicing Chautauqua County for over 30 years. If you are a team-oriented professional who responds with the highest level of patient care, integrity.
Responsibilities:
+ Check vehicle per part 800 standards beginning each shift. + Operate assigned vehicle safely during driving, parking and in emergency mode. + Safely transport wheel-stretcher bound patients as necessary. + Complete billing forms and PCRs in a timely fashion. + Responds to assigned calls in a timely fashion. + Ensure cleanliness of quarters, vehicle and patient equipment. + Ensure safety of vehicle occupants with proper restraints. + Provide treatment at BLS level according to state protocol. + Assures restocking of basic supplies and equipment. + Is able to function at scenes appropriately as a member of a team. + Uses proper radio etiquette and procedures. + Functions appropriately in charge of patient care for those not requiring ALS. + Proactively works to improve services and results and takes initiative to identify opportunities for improvement and implements accordingly. + Demonstrates and delivers quality customer service to internal and external customers, always keeping patient/customer satisfaction a priority. + Provides patient care and/or generates work results that are thorough, accurate, orderly and value-added consistent with hospital policies and procedures. + Anticipates internal and/or external customer needs and facilitates meeting those needs. Ability to render professional basic emergency care in accordance with N.Y.S basic protocol standards.
Licensure, Certifications, and Clearances:
Must complete ICS-100, NIMS700 and HAZMAT Awareness (Post 9/11/2001) training within 6 months of hire. New York SCR Application - Due within first week of Hire New York Mandated Reporter - Due within 90 days of hire or transfer BLS required based on AHA standards that include both a didactic and skills demonstration due upon hire Must complete ICS-100, NIMS700 and HAZMAT Awareness (Post 9/11/2001) training within 6 months of hire/transfer. + Basic Life Support (BLS) OR Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) + Driver's License + Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) + FEMA (Federal Emergency Management Agency) Certification
