Job Description

Job Summary We are seeking a reliable and safety-focused EMS Vehicle Operator (EMSVO) to support emergency medical services operations in accordance with Pennsylvania Department of Health (PA DOH) regulations. The EMSVO is responsible for the safe operation of EMS vehicles, assisting EMS providers during responses, and supporting patient movement and scene operations as directed. Key Responsibilities Safely operate ambulances and EMS response vehicles in emergency and non-emergency situations Assist EMTs and paramedics with patient movement, lifting, and transport Perform vehicle checks, cleaning, restocking, and basic equipment readiness Assist with stretcher operations and securing patients for transport Maintain situational awareness and scene safety at all times Follow
PA DOH EMS
protocols, agency policies, and traffic laws Complete required documentation related to vehicle operation and readiness Communicate effectively with crew members and dispatch Required Qualifications Current Pennsylvania EMS Vehicle Operator (EMSVO) certification Valid state issued driver's license Clean or acceptable driving record (per agency insurance requirements) CPR certification (or ability to obtain prior to start) Ability to lift and carry patients and equipment (up to 100 lbs with assistance) Ability to remain calm and professional in high-stress situations Must meet PA DOH and agency background and health requirements Must become a certified
PA/NREMT-EMT
within 1 year (discounted tuition available). Must be 25 years old or older Preferred Qualifications Prior EMS, fire, or public safety experience EVOC or emergency vehicle driving experience Familiarity with local geography and roadways EMT certification (not required) Schedule & Work Environment Shifts may include days, nights, weekends, and holidays Work performed in emergency scenes, medical facilities, and vehicles Exposure to weather elements, bodily fluids, and stressful environments Benefits Competitive pay Flexible scheduling Training and continuing education opportunities Opportunities for advancement into EMT roles Qualified candidates will be contacted for an interview.
