The EMT is a member of the medical care team trained and certified to render supportive care to the patient at the scene of accidental injury or sudden illness. Transporting patients to the hospital when appropriate and begin corrective treatment as directed under State Protocol or instructed by Medical Command.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

EDUCATION, CERTIFICATION, AND/OR LICENSURE

CORE DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Responsible for determining the extent and nature of injuries, and efficient care of the patient prior to transfer to health care facility. 3. Responsible for assisting in removal of victims from scene of accident. 4. Responsible for safe and efficient patient transport with continued care of the patient en-route to the hospital. 5. Responsible for assisting with vehicle maintenance, ambulance equipment and replenishes supplies.
