GENERAL DESCRIPTION
The Healthcare Technician (HCT) reports to the Department Director and assists nurses in performing tasks related to basic patient care needs. HOURS Full-time reduced, 7P-7APERFORMANCE STANDARDS 1.
Demonstrates service excellence, teamwork and communication practices that result in patient, family and staff satisfaction, 2. Demonstrates the ability to meet the expectation! of the department leader and annual performance standards expectations. 3. Adheres to Corporate Compliance activities, nursing care standards, and the policies and procedures of the Medical Center and Nursing Services. 4. Completes and maintains annual competency mandatory training requirements within the defined timeframes (i.e. safety, annual in-services, corporate compliance, confidentiality). 5. Ability to remain calm, professional, and productive in a fast-paced environment. 6. Attends unit meetings to individual departmental attendance expectations. 7. Demonstrates flexibility regarding department assignments and schedules. 8. Demonstrates competence in specified computer applications and ability to document effectively in the EMR system. 9. Demonstrates appropriate decision-making skills within scope-of practice.QUALIFICATIONS 1.
High School Diploma or equivalent. 2. Completion of Basic Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) course (75 hours minimum) or successful completion of a workplace-based or military training program that provides the education and training necessary to perform Health Care Technician duties in an acute care setting, as approved by the Chief Nursing Officer (CNO) or Associate Vice President (AVP) of Nursing. 3. Ability to obtain and maintain Basic Life Support (BLS) certification throughout employment.
