Job Description
Works under the supervision of the Registered Nurse. The ED Technician may be required to work on other nursing units according to distribution of staff and patients. Performs other duties as required.
Education, Work Experience and Licensure:
- High school graduate or equivalent preferred.
- State tested licensure preferred but not required (STNA).
- Successful completion of the Laboratory phlebotomy training program. Documented competency acceptable in certain circumstances.
- After two years of full-time experience, become certified as a phlebotomy technician. Certification not necessary to continue employment.
- Prior experience in a comparable acute facility preferred.
- CPR required.
