About the
Role:
The Emergency Room Technician plays a crucial role in providing immediate care and support to patients in a fast-paced emergency department. This position is responsible for assisting medical staff in delivering high-quality patient care, ensuring that all procedures are performed efficiently and effectively. The technician will be involved in monitoring patients' vital signs, preparing and maintaining medical equipment, and assisting with various medical procedures. A key outcome of this role is to enhance patient safety and comfort while facilitating a smooth workflow within the emergency room. Ultimately, the Emergency Room Technician contributes significantly to the overall patient experience and outcomes in critical situations.
Minimum Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent. Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
Preferred Qualifications:
Previous experience in an emergency room or critical care setting. Experience with electronic medical records (EMR) systems. Behavioral Health Base Training (provided by the hospital)
Responsibilities:
Assist medical staff in the assessment and treatment of patients in the emergency room. Monitor and record patients' vital signs and report any changes to the medical team. Prepare and maintain medical equipment and supplies for use in emergency procedures. Assist with the transportation of patients to and from the emergency room and other departments. Provide compassionate care and support to patients and their families during stressful situations.

The required skills for this position include strong communication and interpersonal abilities, which are essential for interacting with patients and their families in high-stress situations. Attention to detail is critical, as the technician must accurately monitor and document vital signs and other patient information.
