SummaryMaintains emergency records, performs stocking and cleaning functions within the department, and assists in the provision of patient comfort measures. Performs certain technical duties as assigned by the licensed staff and assists with transporting of patients, specimens, and equipment.
Job DutiesAssists in the collection of patient history and ensures the confidentiality of records as well as cleans and prepares rooms between procedures and changes bed linens and re-stocks room supplies. Transports patients from triage/waiting area to the treatment area in the emergency department. Assists with clerical work such as answering phones, entering data, and maintaining medical records. Transports patients to and from other departments and discharges patients in wheelchairs utilizing proper techniques of body mechanics to protect patients and personal safety. Minimum QualificationsHigh School Diploma/GED 1 year of experience in an emergency department. Ability to work under pressure to meet deadlines. Ability to maintain effective interpersonal relationships. Ability to recognize, analyze, and solve a variety of problems. Ability to use emergency alert notification systems. American Heart Association Basic Life Support
