Endoscopy Technician SHIFT :

PRN, As Needed - Day Shift

JOB SUMMARY

Under the direct supervision of licensed nursing personnel, the Endoscopy Technician performs a variety of routine duties to assist the nurse and physician in the delivery of patient care. Processes and maintains reusable endoscopy supplies and equipment in accordance with department and hospital policies and procedures.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS AND PERFORMANCE STANDARDS

Exemplifies good customer service. Assist the physician with procedures. Demonstrates knowledge of perioperative factors that might alter the perioperative phase. Proficient at preparing supplies, equipment, and medication/solutions needed for the procedure. Maintains an order within the procedure room for the purpose of efficiency and safety. Performs all aspects of patient care, within scope of practice, in an environment that optimizes safety and reduces the likelihood of medical/healthcare errors for patients and staff. Proficient at cleaning procedure room before and between cases. Receive and decontaminate instruments, equipment, and reusable supplies Perform sterilization and reprocessing.
