Job Description

RESPONSIBILITIES
Job Specific Competencies:
Performs duties and anticipates to assist the physician and provide needed supplies and equipment in anticipation of the procedure. Knowledge and understanding of the principles of sterilization, aseptic techniques. Assists in maintaining the supply inventory and practices cost awareness measures as applicable. Ensures efficient telephone communication and correctly uses facility communication systems and office equipment. Provides appropriate safety and infection control measures.
JCMG Core Competencies:
Strives for Continuous Quality Improvement. Participates in educational experiences designed to maintain and/or improve professional competence. Maintains high work ethic standards. Provides quality customer service to staff, patients and visitors at all times.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Education:
High school diploma or GED Completion of an Operating Room Technician course or minimum two years experience in an Ambulatory Surgical/Endoscopy setting
Experience:
Prefer 2-years experience in an Ambulatory Surgical/Endoscopy setting
Certification/License:
BCLS certification or obtain within 3 months
WORK ENVIRONMENT
Working environment is generally favorable; however, there is exposure risk in the form of disease and potential for exposure to electrical and explosion hazards common in a surgical department environment. High potential for exposure to blood and body fluids; personal protective equipment required.
