Job Description

Summary The Endoscopy Technician will perform various indirect patient care activities and related to services under the direction of the professional staff.
Essential duties include:
Perform decontamination, distribution, inventory, and instrumentation/sterilization duties Adheres to safety and professional standards of conduct as a processing technician Initiates and maintains positive relationships with co-workers and customers Takes responsibility for self-development and supports a learning environment Displays commitment to the mission of the hospital and it's values Education, Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities High School graduate or GED equivalent Strong interpersonal and communication skills. Mutli-focal ability to work quickly and efficiently in fast-paced, high stress area Good manual dexterity Able to listen and communicate well Willingness to follow directions Knowledge of sterilization, packaging, and decontamination techniques Knowledge of surgical instrumentation Computer literate Excellent customer service skills Required Length and Type of Experience One year related experience working in a healthcare field or completion of a state certified program required. Required Licensure or Certification Certified Flexible Endoscope Reprocessor required within one year of hire/transfer. Required Physical and Environmental Demands The Endo Tech will require the ability to walk six to eight miles in an eight-hour shift and to lift or carry objects weighing up to 50 lbs. Additionally, this role requires an individual be able to work under periods of high stress and in a consistently fast-paced environment. Exposure to communicate disease and/or body fluids.
