Role:
The Endo Tech plays a critical role in supporting endoscopic procedures by preparing, maintaining, and troubleshooting endoscopic equipment and instruments to ensure optimal performance and patient safety. This position requires close collaboration with medical professionals to facilitate smooth procedural workflows and to provide technical expertise during endoscopic interventions. The Endo Tech is responsible for adhering to strict sterilization protocols and regulatory standards to prevent infections and maintain a sterile environment. Additionally, the role involves inventory management and documentation to ensure all equipment is accounted for and functioning properly. Ultimately, the Endo Tech contributes to high-quality patient care by ensuring that all endoscopic technology is reliable, safe, and ready for use at all times.
Minimum Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent Endoscopy Technologist Certification preferred upon hire If do not have certification, must have one year of medical tech experience in some capacity Basic knowledge of endoscopic equipment and sterilization techniques. Familiarity with healthcare safety and infection control standards. Ability to follow detailed instructions and work effectively in a fast-paced clinical environment. Assist RNs with patient needs as directed.
Preferred Qualifications:
Certification as an Endoscopy Technician (e.g., Certified Endoscopy Technician - CET).must be obtained within one year of employment Experience working in a hospital or outpatient surgical center setting. Knowledge of electronic medical records (EMR) systems and documentation practices. Strong understanding of anatomy related to endoscopic procedures. Excellent communication skills to collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary teams.
Responsibilities:
Prepare and set up endoscopic equipment and instruments prior to procedures, ensuring all devices are functioning correctly. Assist medical staff during endoscopic procedures by providing necessary instruments and technical support. Perform thorough cleaning, disinfection, and sterilization of endoscopic equipment following established protocols. Inspect and maintain endoscopic devices, identifying and reporting any malfunctions or need for repairs. Manage inventory of endoscopic supplies and equipment, ensuring availability and proper storage. Document all procedures related to equipment usage, maintenance, and sterilization in compliance with healthcare regulations. Stay updated on the latest endoscopic technologies and best practices to continuously improve procedural support. Assists DSU with other patients as needed and as directed.

The Endo Tech utilizes technical skills daily to prepare and maintain complex endoscopic equipment, ensuring all devices operate safely and efficiently during procedures. Attention to detail is critical when performing sterilization and cleaning tasks to prevent contamination and infection. Strong organizational skills are applied in managing inventory and maintaining accurate documentation to comply with healthcare regulations. Communication skills are essential for coordinating with medical staff and responding promptly to procedural needs or equipment issues. Additionally, problem-solving abilities are frequently employed to troubleshoot equipment malfunctions and adapt to evolving procedural requirements. This is a day shift position. M-F This is a full-time position and is eligible for overtime , if applicable.
