Job Summary:
Assists nurses and physicians with general endoscopic procedures and related services. Other duties as assigned.
EXPERIENCE DESCRIPTION
A minimum of 1 year experience working in a patient care setting is required.
EDUCATION DESCRIPTION
High School diploma or equivalent is required. Completion of a Certified Nursing Assistant, Medical Assistant, Surgical Technician or EMT education program is required. In lieu of education; two years experience as a GI Technician will be accepted.
SPECIAL SKILLS DESCRIPTION
Good interpersonal skills, ability to prioritize, concentrate and pay close attention to details.
LICENSURE DESCRIPTION
Certified Nursing Assistant, Medical Assistant, Surgical Technician or EMT certification is required. American Heart Association (AHA) Basic Life Support for the Healthcare Provider (BLS) or an AHA approved equivalent is required within 90 days of hire. Completion of Society of Gastroenterology Nurses and Associates (SGNA) Associates Program is preferred.
