Operation ReFresh is a non-profit organization dedicated to supporting survivors of Traumatic Brain Injury (TBI) and Stroke. Our mission is to help our members regain strength, independence, and quality of life by offering specialized gym services and a compassionate environment. We are committed to creating a safe, supportive, and inclusive atmosphere for our members as they work towards their recovery goals.Position Summary:
We are seeking a compassionate and enthusiastic Gym Assistant at ReFresh Specialty Gym- This role is ideal for someone passionate about fitness and rehabilitation, particularly in helping individuals with TBIs and strokes improve their health and mobility.
Key Responsibilities:
Member Support:
Assist TBI and stroke survivors with exercise routines, offer encouragement, and help maintain a positive gym atmosphere.Exercise Assistance:
Help set up and adjust gym equipment for members, ensuring proper and safe use.Observation and Safety:
Monitor members during exercises to ensure safety, correct form, and appropriate use of equipment.Equipment Maintenance:
Keep gym equipment clean and organized, reporting any malfunctions or maintenance needs.- Participate in ongoing education about stroke, brain injury recovery, and the latest rehabilitation techniques.
Qualifications:
- Experience working with individuals recovering from TBIs, strokes, or other neurological conditions is highly desirable.
- Previous experience in a gym, fitness, or rehabilitation setting is a plus but not required.
- CPR/First Aid certification is a plus.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with a compassionate, patient-centered approach.
