Job Description

Exercise Specialist Job Description Overview IU Health is looking for team members who are passionate about challenging and significant work for the good of every patient. Ball Memorial in Muncie, IN.
Shift:
Part Time Days Requirements:
Bachelor's Degree in Exercise Science or related field is required. 1-3 years of relevant experience is preferred. May require ECG course completion. Requires Basic Life Support certification through the AHA. Requires Advanced Cardiac Life Support through the AHA within 6 months of hire.
Roles and Responsibilities:
Conducts and interprets exercise stress tests under physician supervision, including ECG monitoring, blood pressure analysis, and patient symptom evaluation. Provides patient care by instructing, monitoring and recording patient's responses to a rehabilitation program that has been developed by an exercise physiologist and/or a referring provider. Trains and demonstrate proper exercise techniques and equipment use. Instructs patients in safe exercise routines. Utilizes skills to determine the biophysical, psychosocial, environmental, self-care, spiritual and educational needs of the client/family/significant other to develop, implement and revise the plan of care. Completes screenings and assessments with emphasis on safe, evidence-based exercise prescriptions for all apparently healthy and chronic disease populations.
