POSITION
Peer Support Specialist
LOCATION
La Grange, Kentucky (This is a Hospital-Based position)
QUALIFICATIONS
high school diploma or equivalent active peer support specialist certification in Kentucky two years of sobriety familiarity with various recovery models: 12 Step, Rational Recovery, faithbased initiatives, medicationassisted treatment (MAT)
RESPONSIBILITIES AND TRAINING
set the example: teach and model recovery facilitate group and individual sessions as needed help patients define their personal recovery goals teach and model coping techniques and selfhelp strategies empower patients to overcome and combat the stigma of addiction support medicationassisted addiction recovery when appropriate support whichever recovery strategy works best for the individual patient meet with all patients on the first appointment date participate in treatment team meetings help develop patients' treatment plans maintain peer support certification under the direction of the Clinical Services Director complete training in crisisintervention, standard first aid, and CPR by a certified instructor
