Job Description

•Job Overview•We are seeking an experienced Exercise Physiologist to join our multidisciplinary team as part of Weill Cornell Medicine's Longevity Medicine program. The role focuses on conducting comprehensive physical assessments and developing personalized exercise strategies tailored to each patient's medical history, age, experience with physical activity, and health goals. Patients in the program range from older adults beginning structured exercise for the first time to experienced athletes seeking performance optimization and injury prevention. The ideal candidate will be able to work across this spectrum and develop evidence-based exercise interventions that improve health, function, and performance. This role requires strong knowledge of physiology and anatomy, excellent patient communication skills, and the ability to collaborate with physicians, registered dietitians, nurses, and medical assistants in a team-based clinical environment. •Responsibilities•Conduct comprehensive physical performance assessments, including VO₂ max testing, strength assessments, and mobility/balance assessments when indicated. Develop and implement personalized exercise programs based on patient goals, medical history, and performance data. Monitor patient progress and modify exercise plans to optimize outcomes and safety. Educate patients on exercise technique, physiology, and healthy lifestyle strategies. Help patients overcome barriers to exercise such as time constraints, injury history, or lack of prior training. Collaborate with physicians and other healthcare professionals to ensure exercise programs align with overall medical care. Stay current with research and best practices in exercise physiology and preventive health. •Qualifications•Bachelor's degree in Exercise Physiology, Kinesiology, or a related field. Master's degree or higher in Exercise Physiology or a related field preferred. Certification as an Exercise Physiologist or Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist (CSCS). Strong knowledge of human anatomy and physiology. Experience conducting physical performance assessments and developing exercise prescriptions. Proficiency with medical terminology. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a clinical team. Commitment to delivering exceptional patient service and promoting healthy lifestyle habits. •Additional Details•Part-time role initially. Ideally hiring two exercise physiologists able to work 1-2 days per week, beginning August 2026. If permitted by your current employer, we are open to coordinating with them to buy out a portion of your time. The program will begin with 1-2 clinic days per week, with the potential to expand to 4-5 days per week as it grows. Most ideally, you have ongoing availability on the following days•> Thursdays (1st priority), Wednesdays (2nd priority), and Mondays (3rd priority) Schedule may include one of both of following clinic sessions:•>
