Job Description

Kids SPOT Pediatric Therapy is an outpatient clinic dedicated to providing comprehensive speech-language, physical, and occupational therapy services for children from birth through age 21. The Kids Spot Play Therapy Program is grounded in evidence-based and evidence-informed practices supported by current research literature, professional organizations, and clinical best practices. Treatment approaches are selected based on each child's developmental level, presenting concerns, family system, strengths, and individual treatment goals while remaining consistent with current standards of care. Job Overview We are seeking a compassionate and highly skilled Licensed Mental Health Professional (Play Therapist) to join our new Play Therapy program! The ideal candidate will have a strong background in child and family counseling, behavioral therapy, and mental health assessment. In this role, you will deliver evidence-based therapeutic interventions using play therapy techniques to support children with social-emotional concerns, trauma, or behavioral challenges. You will also collaborate with families and multidisciplinary teams to develop personalized treatment plans that promote emotional well-being and resilience. Responsibilities Conduct comprehensive intake assessments to determine client needs and develop tailored treatment plans. Utilize play therapy, cognitive behavioral therapy, art therapy, and other modalities to address emotional, behavioral, and developmental issues in children. Provide individual and group counseling sessions focused on mental health counseling, trauma recovery, gender issues counseling, and crisis intervention. Collaborate with families, caregivers, educators, and healthcare providers to coordinate care and ensure continuity of patient support. Collect data on patient progress through documentation of medical records while maintaining compliance with HIPAA regulations. Manage case loads effectively by prioritizing patient care needs and maintaining accurate medical documentation. Participate in ongoing professional development related to counseling children and families within the field of mental health. Participate in interdisciplinary collaboration with occupational therapy, speech-language pathology, physical therapy, pediatricians, educators, and other referral sources when appropriate. Participate in case consultation, clinical supervision (when required), peer review, and staff meetings. Skills Extensive experience working with children in home or community care settings. Proficiency in data collection methods for tracking patient progress and outcomes. Knowledge of counseling principles as they relate to mental health treatment. Strong background in social work principles combined with behavioral therapy techniques. Expertise in child & family counseling, working with individuals with developmental disabilities or autism spectrum disorder. Familiarity with behavior response and interventions, crisis management, conflict management, and play based strategies. Experience conducting intake evaluations for behavioral health services including psychotherapy, motivational interviewing, and crisis intervention. Qualifications Applicants must possess one of the following Arkansas licenses Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT)
Required:
Master's degree in Counseling, Social Work, Marriage & Family Therapy, or related behavioral health field from an accredited institution. Current Arkansas license in good standing. Compliance with all organizational credentialing requirements.
