Building Steps Behavioral Health is seeking a compassionate and motivated Mental Health Therapist to join our team. This position is ideal for a master's-level behavioral health professional who has experience working with individuals affected by substance use disorders, mental health concerns, trauma, and co-occurring conditions . REQUIRED

in Counseling, Psychology, Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy, or a related behavioral health field Independent clinical license is not required Experience working with substance use, addiction, recovery, or co-occurring mental health disorders Experience providing individual and/or family therapy preferred Knowledge of clinical assessments, treatment planning, progress notes, and discharge planning Strong communication, documentation, and organizational skills Bilingual English/Spanish preferred Ability to maintain professional boundaries, confidentiality, and ethical standards Responsibilities Provide individual and/or family therapy to adolescents and adults Work with clients experiencing substance use, addiction, relapse concerns, anxiety, depression, trauma, and other behavioral health needs Complete assessments, individualized treatment plans, progress notes, and other required clinical documentation Develop treatment goals based on each client's needs Utilize evidence-based, trauma-informed, and person-centered interventions Teach coping skills, emotional regulation, relapse-prevention strategies, and healthy decision-making Coordinate care with behavioral health providers, recovery programs, probation, community agencies, and other supports as appropriate Participate in clinical supervision, staffing meetings, and required training Maintain timely and accurate clinical documentation Ideal Candidate We are looking for someone who is compassionate, dependable, professional, and nonjudgmental.
