Job Description
Join our growing boutique private practice as an Associate Therapist and play a key role in providing compassionate, evidence-based mental health care to a diverse client population. Yellow Rose Family Therapy is a supervised group practice with offices in Atascadero and Los Alamitos, plus statewide telehealth. We maintain an active waitlist and consistent referral flow to help you build your caseload quickly. Clinical supervision for this position is provided directly by the LMFT/Owner. This position provides direct clinical services under BBS-qualified supervision and includes assessment, diagnosis, treatment planning, psychotherapy, and documentation. You'll work with individuals, couples, and families, supporting clients toward improved mental health, resilience, and well-being — with a clear path toward accruing hours for full licensure. Key Responsibilities Conduct comprehensive intake assessments and diagnostic evaluations using ICD-10 criteria Provide individual, couples and family therapy using evidence-based modalities Develop and implement individualized treatment plans Apply crisis intervention and risk assessment strategies when needed Maintain timely, accurate clinical documentation compliant with HIPAA, legal, and insurance requirements, completed in our EHR (Sessions Health) Administer and interpret clinical assessments and outcome measures Collaborate with your supervisor and team to ensure high-quality care Maintain consistent, professional communication with clients and team Attend weekly supervision, trainings, and case consultations Uphold ethical standards, professional boundaries, and confidentiality Preferred Clinical Experience (one or more welcomed, not required) Children, adolescents, and families Trauma, PTSD, and grief Anxiety, depression, and mood disorders Autism spectrum disorder and developmental disabilities Addiction and co-occurring disorders Qualifications Master's degree qualifying for AMFT, APCC, or ASW registration with the California BBS Registered Associate (AMFT, ASW, or APCC) with the California BBS, in good standing, with primary registration/supervision at our practice Strong assessment, diagnosis, and treatment planning skills Working knowledge of evidence-based modalities (e.g., CBT, motivational interviewing, behavioral therapy) Ability to manage a caseload and complete documentation on time Strong organizational, communication, and time management skills Comfort with EHR systems and general technology Telehealth experience a plus Position Details W-2 employee, (15-25 hrs/week) Evening and/or weekend availability required In-person at our Atascadero, CA 93422 office, multiple days/week Commitment to ongoing professional development Compensation & Benefits $50 per clinical hour Paid administrative time: up to 3 hrs/week at $18/hour (documentation, supervision) Weekly clinical supervision at no cost, provided directly by the LMFT/Owner Paid sick time; flexible scheduling Full administrative support — referrals, scheduling, and marketing handled for you
