Position Summary The Mental Health Therapist is responsible for providing direct service to clients, and for facilitating the day-to-day operation of the program. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Maintain appropriate boundaries with clients Perform biopsychosocial assessments, treatment planning and discharge planning Review treatment plan goals with clients regularly Support clients in accessing community resources Provide individual and group therapy Provide suicide screenings, assessments and re-assessments Be aware of and eliminate stressors in the facility Be aware of potential crisis and manage the program to decrease crisis Inform Clinical Director of significant events in a timely manner Communicate accurate and timely information within guidelines All charts, program documentation, medication management, incident reports and other forms/reports are completed according to the defined Other duties as assigned
Requirements:
Master's in Counseling Psychology, Marriage and Family Therapy, or Clinical Social Work. Valid AMFT or ACSW. One year full-time experience working directly with clients in a program serving people with mental illness preferred.
Knowledge:
Knowledge of and belief in the principles of client centered treatment. Completed training in EMDR. (additional trauma treatment modalities preferred, but not required) Demonstrated ability to work independently and as a team player. Excellent communication skills both oral and written. Valid driver's license, clean driving record and personal automobile insurance. Hiring is contingent upon receiving DOJ/FBI fingerprint clearance or an exemption, a submission of a signed Criminal Record Statement (LIC 508), a TB test, and clearance on an employment physical. Current First Aid and CPR certification is preferred prior to employment.
