Job Description

Join Our Team and Make a Difference in the Lives of Children and Families! 5 Peaks is seeking a compassionate and motivated Associate Marriage & Family Therapist (AMFT) to join our growing School-Based Services team. This is an excellent opportunity for a therapist who is passionate about working with children and adolescents in a school setting while gaining valuable clinical experience toward licensure under qualified supervision. As a School-Based AMFT, you will provide mental health services to students while collaborating with educators, caregivers, and community partners to promote student success and emotional well-being. What You'll Do Provide individual and group therapy to school-aged children and adolescents. Conduct mental health assessments and develop individualized treatment plans. Maintain timely and accurate clinical documentation in accordance with agency, Medi-Cal, BBS, and school requirements. Collaborate with teachers, school personnel, parents, caregivers, and community providers. Participate in multidisciplinary team meetings and case consultations. Provide crisis intervention and safety planning as needed. Maintain professional and ethical standards while ensuring confidentiality. Attend weekly clinical supervision and staff meetings. Travel to assigned school sites within the service area. Minimum Qualifications Master's degree in Marriage and Family Therapy or a closely related behavioral health field. Current California Associate Marriage and Family Therapist (AMFT) registration with the Board of Behavioral Sciences (BBS). Valid California driver's license, reliable transportation, and current auto insurance. Ability to pass DOJ/FBI background clearance and all agency pre-employment requirements. Strong written and verbal communication skills. Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively within a multidisciplinary team. Preferred Qualifications Experience working with children, adolescents, and families. Knowledge of trauma-informed care, child development, and behavioral interventions. Experience in school-based mental health, community mental health, or foster care services is preferred but not required. Bilingual applicants are encouraged to apply. Why Join Children First FFA?
