Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated and motivated Master's Level Intern or
AMFT, ASW, LPCC
to join our team at a residential substance use and mental health treatment center in Huntington Beach. This internship offers a unique opportunity to gain hands-on experience in the mental health/substance use field while working alongside experienced professionals. The ideal candidate will have a passion for helping others and a desire to learn about various therapeutic techniques and counseling practices. This role will involve direct interaction with clients, providing support, and assisting in various therapeutic activities. The ideal candidate is someone who is a hard worker, efficient at documentation, and willing to learn. Supervision will be provided weekly for interns by a licensed supervisor. Responsibilities Assist licensed professionals in providing therapy and counseling services. Complete Biopsychosocial assessments and Clinical Assessments Facilitate group therapy sessions and individual therapy sessions Complete Treatment Plans weekly Maintain accurate medical documentation in compliance with HIPAA regulations. Collaborate with team members on crisis intervention strategies and crisis management. Skills The ideal candidate should possess a combination of the following skills: knowledge of different modalities such as cognitive behavioral therapy, psychodynamic therapy, and art therapy. Experience with crisis intervention and crisis management Familiarity with telehealth practices and outpatient/inpatient care settings. Strong understanding of patient care principles, patient assessment, and medical records management. Ability to work effectively within a team while also demonstrating independent initiative.
