Primary Therapist - Mental Health Facility

Job Summary Quest Behavioral Health is seeking a compassionate and skilled Primary Therapist to assist in the development and implementation of individualized, community-based, non-aversive behavior management programs for our residents. This role focuses on promoting communication, self-control, and positive behavioral alternatives while supporting individuals with mental health and/or substance use disorders in a residential setting. Programs are designed for real-world, community environments and tailored to each resident's specific needs, with targeted goals for behavior increase and reduction. Key Responsibilities Develop and implement individualized behavior management and treatment plans Provide community-referenced, non-aversive therapeutic interventions Deliver mental health treatment and consultation services, including: Individual therapy Family therapy Group therapy Crisis intervention Clinical consultation Share mental health treatment responsibilities with a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW), as assigned Assist in maintaining and overseeing the clinical program Support staff direction, training, and evaluation as applicable Employment Standards & Qualifications Education Master's Degree or higher from an accredited college or university Licensure / Registration Valid California registration with the Board of Behavioral Sciences (BBS), including Associates number. Minimum Qualifications 18 years of age or older At least one year of full-time direct care experience in an agency or residential/group home setting serving residents Valid California driver's license Completion of First Aid/CPR requirements per Community Care Licensing Experience Minimum one year of experience in addictions and/or mental health treatment Training and/or experience in a hospital, residential, or treatment center preferred Demonstrated career interest in mental health treatment Knowledge & Abilities Knowledge of care and supervision requirements for at-risk clients Ability to communicate effectively with clients and interdisciplinary professionals Strong understanding of applicable laws and regulatory compliance Ability to maintain or supervise a clinical program Ability to direct staff, when applicable Ability to assist with policy development and program curriculum Ability to recruit, train, evaluate, and, if necessary, terminate staff Required Skills Exceptional organizational and management skills Strong leadership and communication abilities Ability to work effectively with clients and professionals at all levels Thorough understanding of substance use disorders and behavioral health treatment Why Join Quest Behavioral Health?
