Job Description

A Successful Associate Therapist at Valencia Relationship Institute Will Be Someone Who... Holds an active AMFT, ASW, or APCC registration number with the California Board of Behavioral Sciences. Has a minimum of 1 year post-graduate experience in a group, private practice, or agency setting, involving direct client interaction and therapy services. Enjoys working with children, teens, adults, and couples to help them navigate emotional and relationship challenges. Has a strong understanding of or willingness to learn evidence-based therapeutic interventions like CBT, DBT, EMDR, TF-CBT, and EFT for couples. Is passionate about building genuine therapeutic relationships and providing the highest level of care to clients. Values working in a collaborative team environment and thrives in a setting where you can consult with colleagues and expert clinical supervisors to continuously grow professionally. Is committed to seeing clients in person at our Valencia location. Can offer up to 15 hours of availability per week, with flexible scheduling options for a part-time role. Desires to develop their private practice career exclusively with Valencia Relationship Institute, refraining from establishing or working for another private practice while employed with us (this includes telehealth companies like Rula or Grow). Demonstrates a strong commitment to ongoing professional development through training and consultation. Takes initiative and is proactive in managing their caseload and maintaining a high standard of client care. Enjoys a work environment where admin work is handled for you—therapists at VRI can focus on helping their clients, while we take care of the logistics. Is excited to earn a competitive rate of $37 per client hour, with a bonus incentive program after 6 months of seeing clients.
Your Professional Responsibilities:
Provide therapeutic services to clients including individual, couples, and family counseling. Maintain a detailed and up-to-date client schedule and case notes. Stay current with the latest evidence-based practices and integrate them into your work. Engage in regular clinical consultation and training to ensure you're always growing in your craft. Work collaboratively with your colleagues, contributing to a positive team environment and supporting each other. Participate in individual and triadic supervision provided by both Directors of VRI to continually develop your skills and expertise. Uphold the professional image of Valencia Relationship Institute while maintaining a safe, respectful, and supportive space for clients.

Schedule:
As an Associate Therapist at Valencia Relationship Institute, you will work in a part-time role . You'll see clients in person at our Valencia office . We offer a flexible schedule that can align with your availability, but please be prepared to offer some evening and weekend hours as these are the most in-demand openings with our clients.
