Job Description

Two positions to fill: Licensed (+2 years experience) AND Associate Therapist - (Multiple Locations)
Multiple Office Locations:
Campbell, San Jose, Los Gatos, Saratoga, Palo Alto :
Full Time:
Monday to Friday 8am to 4:30pm
Associate Pay:
35-40/ h depending on experience
Licensed Pay:
Based on experience We are seeking to fill two positions: a Licensed and Associate Therapist (AMFT, ASW, or APCC) with experience in addiction treatment to serve as the therapist in multiple locations (Inpatient & outpatient- Los Gatos, Palo Alto, Saratoga, Campbell, San Jose). This role provides direct client care, and collaboration with program coordination and treatment care teams to ensure the highest quality client experience. This clinician will support an evidence-based, abstinence-based, and recovery-centered approach - focusing not just on treatment, but on long-term stabilization, recovery, community connection, and family engagement. Key Responsibilities Conduct initial clinical assessments for clients entering outpatient programs. Provide individual therapy sessions , focusing on substance use and co-occurring mental health needs. Facilitate group sessions, couples/family sessions, and group family sessions . Participate in case consultation meetings , treatment planning, and interdisciplinary team discussions. Support and collaborate with Program Coordinators for smooth daily operations. Communicate clinical needs, client updates, and recommendations to leadership as appropriate. Maintain accurate, timely clinical documentation in accordance with regulatory and program requirements. Contribute to a positive treatment environment aligned with organizational mission and values. At Campbell location to serve as a clinical lead for counselors. Required Qualifications Active California associate registration: AMFT, ASW, or APCC . Experience working with addiction and co-occurring disorders . Experience facilitating groups and conducting family work. Strong understanding of clinical boundaries, ethics, and compliance. Ability to work independently while contributing to a multidisciplinary team. Core CompetenciesClinical Judgment & Assessment Skilled in assessing risk, diagnosing, and formulating treatment plans. Ability to respond effectively to clinical crises and client instability. Addiction Treatment Expertise Understanding of substance use disorder, relapse cycles, withdrawal patterns, and harm-reduction fundamentals. Ability to apply evidence-based interventions including
MI, CBT, DBT
skills, relapse prevention, and family systems concepts. Group & Family Facilitation Confident in leading psychoeducational, process, and skills groups. Competent in managing dynamics in family sessions and group family sessions. Able to maintain structure, contain emotion, and redirect effectively. Communication & Collaboration Clear, professional communication with clients, families, and staff. Works well with Program Coordinators and treatment team members. Provides clinical input that supports program decisions and client outcomes. Documentation & Compliance Timely and accurate documentation in EMR. Understanding of state licensing requirements, confidentiality regulations, and best practices. Professionalism & Leadership Models healthy boundaries, emotional regulation, and leadership behaviors. Supports a therapeutic culture that is safe, consistent, and recovery-focused. Able to mentor or support junior clinicians when appropriate. Preferred Qualifications Prior experience in SUD settings. Familiarity with Kipu or similar EMR systems. Experience with VA/First Responder populations (not required but a plus).
