Search positions Next job The Behavioral Health Clinician is responsible for direct patient care and safety including diagnostic, assessment, treatment, and discharge planning for children, adolescents, and their families in Outpatient, Inpatient or Emergency Department settings. The Creative Arts Therapy Behavioral Health Clinician FLEX (CAT BHC) is a member of the Ponzio Creative Arts Therapy (PCAT) Program within the Integrative & Creative Care (ICC) Division. This flexible clinical role provides direct creative arts therapy services across Psychiatric Mental Health Institute (PMHI) inpatient and ambulatory programs, adapting to evolving patient care needs and program priorities. Primary responsibilities include facilitating therapeutic groups, multifamily groups, and individual therapy sessions, while collaborating with interdisciplinary teams to foster a safe, engaging, trauma-informed, and recovery-oriented treatment environment. Candidates must be registered with their respective national creative arts therapy credentialing organization, such as ATR, ATR-BC, R-DMT, or RDT. Duties & Responsibilities Provides direct patient care and management of children and adolescents by developing and implementing treatment and intervention plans and conducting needs assessment to gather patient information. Provides crisis intervention to families and provides interventions with families to support discharge to home and stabilization. Also develops a therapeutic relationship with patients and families to assist with psychological problems. Completes diagnostic behavioral health assessments for treatment or crisis intervention. Compiles and analyzes data and prepares case records, reports, and documents that comply with state and federal standards in providing case notes, treatment plans, and evaluations. Collaborates with other disciplines or departments on patient care and unit safety and serves as a liaison with multi-disciplinary care teams and external community agencies to identify, implement, and monitor treatment goals. Presents case presentations and provides consultation to medical teams and callers. Coordinates admissions to programs within the Pediatric Mental Health Institute or community programs and coordinates treatment with internal and external services. Leads, monitors, evaluates, and collaborates educational and therapeutic groups for patients; participates in clinical rounds and maintains communication with unit or department leadership. Attends educational in-services for Behavioral Health Clinicians Participates in unit committees and educational offerings; complies with all policies and procedures related to the Pediatric Mental Health Institute and the hospital; and provides customer service as related to the Mental Health field. Minimum Qualifications Degrees Master's Area of Study Psychology, social work or related field. Experience 2 years in a mental health setting/agency Creative Arts Therapist experience Preferred Dance, Arts, etc. Licenses & Certifications Variety of licenses acceptable BLS/CPR from the American Heart Association with at least 6 months left before expiration is required upon hire. State of Colorado Department of Regulatory Agencies (DORA): Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) or Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) or Licensed Marriage and Family Counselor Credentialing must be completed by the Medical Staff Office (MSO) within 3 months of employment ATR or ATR-BC (Art Therapist Registered
