The therapist will be responsible for assessing, diagnosing, and treating children and adolescents with a range of mental health issues. The ideal candidate will have experience working with young populations, strong clinical skills, and a passion for helping children thrive.
Responsibilities:
Conduct thorough assessments and evaluations to determine the mental health needs of children and adolescents. Develop and implement individualized treatment plans based on evidence-based practices. Provide individual, group, and family therapy sessions to address various emotional, behavioral, and psychological issues. Collaborate with parents, caregivers, and other professionals to ensure a holistic approach to treatment. Maintain accurate and confidential records of client progress and treatment plans in compliance with legal and ethical standards. Offer crisis intervention and support as needed. Educate and support families on mental health issues, treatment options, and strategies to assist their child. Participate in case consultations, supervision, and professional development activities. Stay current with the latest research and best practices in child and adolescent mental health.
Qualifications:
Master's or Doctoral degree in Psychology, Social Work, Counseling, or a related field. A minimum of 2 years of clinical experience working with children and adolescents. Strong understanding of child development and psychopathology. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to build rapport with children and their families from diverse backgrounds. Strong organizational skills and attention to detail. Commitment to maintaining confidentiality and adhering to ethical standards.
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience with specific therapeutic modalities such as Play Therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), or Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT). Certification in specialized areas (e.g., trauma-informed care, autism spectrum disorders). Bilingual in English and Spanish or another language.
