Description Position Overview Lakeview Behavioral Health is actively seeking a dedicated and empathetic mental health therapist to join our team as a full-time or part-time professional. We specialize in treating complex conditions such as post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), complex trauma, and dissociative disorders. Our team is committed to evidence-based practices and a holistic approach to mental health care. Work Environment As a licensed mental health therapist, you will have the flexibility to work remotely, allowing you to balance professional responsibilities with personal commitments. Working within a supportive and collaborative team atmosphere, you will engage in regular case consultations and professional development activities that enhance your knowledge and skills in trauma-informed care. Key Responsibilities Your day-to-day responsibilities will encompass a range of tasks tailored to meet the needs of trauma survivors.
Specific duties include:
Conducting thorough, trauma-informed mental health assessments to evaluate patients' history and identify appropriate therapeutic approaches. Developing and implementing personalized treatment plans that prioritize trauma recovery and resilience-building. Providing evidence-based therapeutic interventions, including modalities such as Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) and Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT). Delivering both individual and group therapy sessions, helping participants process their trauma, develop coping strategies, and promote their healing journey. Collaborating closely with psychiatrists and interdisciplinary team members to ensure comprehensive care for our patients. Offering crisis intervention support during trauma-related emergencies to stabilize clients and guide them toward recovery. Educating patients and their families about trauma responses, coping mechanisms, and available community resources. Maintaining accurate and confidential documentation for each patient, in alignment with legal and ethical standards. Participating in team meetings and workshops focused on continuous improvement and best practices in trauma-informed care. Staying informed about the latest research and advancements in trauma therapy to enrich treatment approaches. Patient Population / Client Focus Our focus is on providing care to individuals who have experienced trauma. Whether it be through acute or chronic experiences, patients seek our support to confront and overcome the multifaceted effects of their trauma. You will engage with clients who may present with diverse backgrounds and mental health needs, tailoring your approach to support their unique recovery journeys. Qualifications To succeed in this role, candidates should possess the following qualifications:
Education:
A master's or doctoral degree in Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy, Mental Health Counseling, or Psychology from an accredited institution.
Licensure:
A current and valid license as an LCSW, LMHC, or LMFT in the state of Florida is essential.
Clinical Skills:
A strong foundation in trauma-informed treatment modalities and resilience-building approaches.
Communication Skills:
Excellent interpersonal skills must ensure a compassionate and non-judgmental therapeutic environment.
Technical Proficiency:
Familiarity with electronic health record (EHR) systems and other relevant software applications is required. Preferred Experience Preferred candidates will have at least two years of post-licensure experience, with a demonstrated track record of successfully delivering trauma-focused therapies. A solid understanding of trauma-related disorders and their implications on mental health is crucial for delivering the highest standard of care. Compensation and Benefits This position offers a competitive salary range of $90,000 to $110,000 annually, commensurate with experience and qualifications.
