Job Description

Full Time Therapist at Therapeutic Day School New Connections Academy (NCA), a Therapeutic Day School located in Palatine, Illinois, is seeking a Staff Therapist for a full-time, one year position. This is a unique opportunity to be part of a multidisciplinary team with a mission of equity and inclusion for all staff, students, and families. This position also includes competitive salary and benefits, time hours, no on-call duties, free lunch daily and a school holiday schedule. NCA is a therapeutic day school located in Palatine, Illinois which provides academic and therapeutic services for children ages 6-22 with emotional and behavioral challenges (including, ASD, Anxiety, Depression, OCD, ADHD, etc.) with a specialized focus on supporting individuals with Level 1 and 2 functioning (higher level of functioning) Autism Spectrum Disorder. Our school utilizes educational, therapeutic, family and community connections to promote academic achievement and personal/emotional growth for our students. Our staff is fully committed to helping each student make progress and develop the skills necessary to succeed at their public school and in their adult life. The environment is based on a positive nurturing model and a strength-based approach where students receive a variety of related services. In addition to academic services, interventions such as individual, group and family therapy, restorative behavior support, occupational therapy, speech and language therapy, art and music therapy, pet therapy, psychiatric consultation and nursing support. Our staff is fully committed to help each student develop the skills necessary to succeed at their hometown school, in their community and/or in their adult life. The position requires the candidate to have a Masters Degree or higher (Clinical, School, Counseling, or Social Work) and an intent to complete an Illinois State license of
LPC, LSW, LCPC, LCSW, LCP.
We have the ability to offer supervision hours from a Licensed staff member matched to your specific degree for those seeking their license. We would be open to applicants who are pre-licensed and seeking additional supervision and/or training (externship, internship, postdoctoral fellowship).
Some duties include:
Provide individual, group, and family therapy as well as crisis management and risk assessments for children, adolescents and their families. Promote and support equity and inclusion for all staff, students and families throughout direct service delivery and consultation with our multidisciplinary team members and community partners. Manage the IEPs of the students on your caseload, including writing goals and tracking progress. Attend multidisciplinary meetings, to present comprehensive treatment plans and summaries for students Attend 1 hour of individual and 2½ hours of group supervision/training per week with a Licensed Clinical Psychologist Consult and collaborate with students' treatment teams, including academic staff, members of the clinical staff, and administration Maintain clinical files: treatment plans, diagnosis, clinical goals, progress notes, etc Present on training topics and case presentations in a rotating schedule with other site therapists Benefits include: Health Insurance Optional Dental/Vision Insurance Optional 401K Paid sick time Paid leave time Tuition reimbursement for further advancement of degree School holiday schedule including paid winter, spring, and summer breaks For more information about NCA, please visit our website at www.newconnectionsacademy.net.
