Position Summary As a Mental Health Therapist, you will provide high-quality, evidence-based care to individuals with both mental health and substance use needs. This role is ideal for clinicians who are interested in working with co-occurring disorders and want to build or deepen their skills in addictions treatment alongside general outpatient therapy.
You'll work within a structured, team-based environment that supports your growth in assessment, treatment planning, and clinical decision-making across both mental health and substance use presentations. Whether you bring prior experience in addictions or are looking to expand into this area, you'll have access to supervision, consultation, and peer support to strengthen your practice. What You'll Do Provide individual, family, and/or group therapy for clients with mental health and substance use concerns Complete comprehensive assessments, including substance use history and risk factors Develop and implement treatment plans that address co-occurring disorders Build skills in clinical decision-making related to level of care, readiness for change, and relapse risk Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members and community partners to coordinate care (e.g., MAT providers, recovery supports) Maintain timely, accurate, and clinically meaningful documentation Monitor client progress and adjust interventions to support measurable outcomes Who You Are Interested in or experienced with co-occurring mental health and substance use treatment Early in your career or continuing to build confidence in your clinical skills Curious, nonjudgmental, and able to engage clients across stages of change Open to feedback, supervision, and ongoing skill development Comfortable balancing structure with developing your own clinical judgment Bonus Points If You Have experience with substance use treatment, recovery-oriented care, or harm reduction approaches Are familiar with evidence-based practices such as CBT, DBT, Motivational Interviewing, or relapse prevention Enjoy working with clients navigating ambivalence and behavior change Value collaboration and want to be part of a supportive clinical team Required Qualifications Master's degree in Addictions or Mental Health Counseling, Social Work, or related behavioral health field Associate or Independent Licensure in Indiana (or ability to obtain) as LCAC, LCSW, LMHC, or LMFT Commitment to inclusive, trauma-informed, and client-centered care Foundational skills in assessment, documentation, and clinical reasoning (with opportunity for continued development)
