First Episode Psychosis (FEP) Therapist About the Program We are seeking a compassionate, dedicated, and skilled therapist to join our growing First Episode Psychosis (FEP) Program. This specialized program provides coordinated, recovery-oriented care to adolescents and young adults experiencing their first episode of psychosis. Our team follows the evidence-based
NAVIGATE
model, helping individuals and their families achieve recovery, independence, and improved quality of life. As an FEP Therapist, you will work as part of a multidisciplinary team that includes psychiatry, case management, supported employment and education specialists, family therapists, and program leadership. Position Summary The FEP Therapist provides individual psychotherapy and clinical support to clients experiencing early psychosis. The therapist will utilize evidence-based interventions, including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy for Psychosis (CBTp), psychoeducation, motivational interviewing, and recovery-oriented practices to support clients in achieving their treatment goals. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Provide individual therapy to clients enrolled in the First Episode Psychosis Program. Develop and maintain person-centered treatment plans in collaboration with clients and the treatment team. Conduct comprehensive clinical assessments and ongoing evaluations of client progress. Deliver evidence-based interventions, including CBT-informed approaches and recovery-focused treatment. Participate in multidisciplinary treatment team meetings and case consultations. Coordinate care with psychiatrists, case managers, family therapists, schools, employers, and community providers as appropriate. Provide crisis intervention and risk assessments when necessary. Maintain accurate, timely, and compliant clinical documentation in the electronic health record. Support client engagement, retention, and recovery goals. Participate in program development, quality improvement initiatives, and ongoing training related to psychosis treatment.
Qualifications Required:
Master's degree in Counseling, Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy, Psychology, or related behavioral health field. Experience providing psychotherapy to adolescents, young adults, and/or adults. Strong clinical assessment and documentation skills. Ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team.
Preferred:
Experience working with serious mental illness, psychosis, schizophrenia spectrum disorders, or first episode psychosis populations. Training in
CBT, CBT
for Psychosis (CBTp), Motivational Interviewing, or Trauma-Informed Care. Experience with family systems and coordinated specialty care models. Active Indiana license (LMHC, LCSW, LMFT, or license eligible). Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Strong therapeutic rapport-building skills. Excellent verbal and written communication. Ability to engage individuals experiencing psychosis in a respectful, strengths-based manner. Understanding of recovery-oriented and person-centered care principles. Strong organizational and time-management skills.
