Part-Time Behavioral Health Therapist Health Partnership Clinic Inc. - 2.3 Olathe, KS Job Details Part-time From $30 an hour 1 day ago Qualifications Computer skills Full Job Description Duties and Responsibilities Provide comprehensive assessment, diagnosis, and brief interventions for primary care patients with behavioral health and co-existing medical illness. Assist the primary care team to provide assessment and brief interventions for psychological disorders, education regarding prevention, healthy life-style changes, chronic disease management techniques, and substance use issues. Evaluate crisis situations and apply appropriate interventions. Provide behavioral health services to outreach partnerships. Provide specialized behavioral health services that includes, but not limited to the following: o Orient patients to the specialty program. o Monitor and manage patient referrals and participation in the program. o Complete intake/screening/assessment/referral process within appropriate time frames. o Provide comprehensive assessment and diagnosis. o Facilitate group, family, couples, and individual therapy sessions. o Collaborate with patients to develop patient centered treatment plans, ongoing treatment plan updates, progress notes and other required documentation throughout the treatment process, within appropriate time frames. o Manage patient case load to ensure all paperwork and documentation is accurate and completed on time, in compliance with HPC standards, privacy standards and regulations, to maintain patient confidentiality. o Communicate with families, legal contacts, etc. throughout the treatment process and provide any documentation as needed. o Make referrals as appropriate for Case Management and/or other community support. o Participate in clinical staffing/treatment meetings providing feedback on all cases and seek supervision/consultation when needed. o Consult with the Director of Behavioral Health on cases as needed, outside of treatment team meetings. Assist the Director of Behavioral Health in monitoring and reporting program outcomes. Assist the Director of Behavioral Health in program audit functions to maintain compliance with all standards and regulations, including quarterly chart audits. Provide psychological testing, if Licensed as a Psychologist. Maintain a current and active license in the State of Kansas Adhere to ethical standards in compliance with the Kansas Board of Behavioral Sciences (BSRB) and appropriate licensing organization. Complete all required CEUs for licensure and program requirements. Flexible schedule to meet the needs of the program. (weekends/evenings) Other duties as assigned. Regular attendance and punctuality are essential requirements of this job. • This position will only work two days per week, Monday and Friday.• Qualifications Active and Unrestricted License in the state of Kansas, as a Licensed Specialist Clinical Social worker (LSCSW) or Licensed Psychologist (LP). Experience with the use of evidence based brief interventions for integrated care with the ability to provide effective care by way of brief patient contacts, as well as to make quick and accurate clinical assessments of mental and behavioral conditions. Knowledge regarding trauma informed care, cultural sensitivity, substance abuse services and mental health treatment. Knowledge of DSM-5 diagnostic criteria. Knowledge and understanding of psychopharmacology, especially regarding psychotropic medication and medication assisted treatment. Flexibility to assess and triage in the moment for medical staff with limited preparation. Experience working with tele-medicine and EHR documentation to maintain privacy and compliance. Willingness to educate patients and the community regarding behavioral health. Ability to make quick and accurate assessments of behavioral health conditions. Ability to relate well with patients and other health care personnel with diverse backgrounds with cultural sensitivity. Critical thinking skills and decisive judgment. Superior verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills. Commitment to expanding access to care for the underserved. Ability to work in a fast paced, challenging environment under pressure. Comfortable working with an interdisciplinary team. Experience with the facilitation of evidence-based practices for individuals, families, couples, and group therapy sessions Language proficiency in Spanish preferred
Education and Experience:
1. Master's degree in psychology, social work, or related field (Required) 2. Doctoral degree in psychology (Preferred) 3. Active and Unrestricted License in the state of Kansas, as a Licensed Specialist Clinical Social Worker (LSCSW) or Licensed Psychologist (LP). (Required) 4. Active and Unrestricted License in the state of Kansas, as a Licensed Clinical Addiction Counselor (LCAC). (Preferred) 5. At least three years of experience directly related to working in behavioral health.
Typical Physical Demands:
Prolonged sitting or standing may be required. Ability to lift 25 pounds; occasionally up to 60 pounds. Those physical movements and the degree of mobility, manual dexterity and hand-eye coordination normally associated with normal medical office will be performed on a repetitive basis. The ability to distinguish letters and symbols as well as the ability to utilize telephones, computer terminals and copiers is required. Work under stressful conditions as well as irregular hours may be required. Frequent exposure to communicable disease, body fluids, toxic substances, medicinal preparations, radiation, and other conditions common to a clinical environment may routinely be encountered. Health Partnership Clinic (HPC) follows an Integrated Healthcare Model to help meet the needs of primary care patients who may suffer from medical conditions (diabetes, hypertension, obesity, etc.) and co-occurring mental health conditions (depression, anxiety, addiction, etc.). Under the direction and supervision of the Behavioral Health Director, the Behavioral Health Therapist will provide services at our Olathe, Ottawa, Paola, Shawnee Mission, and other clinics as assigned, to manage and treat behavioral health conditions within the primary care setting, as a member of the healthcare team. The BHC will help deliver a coordinated, multi-disciplinary treatment approach that is aimed at identifying and treating behavioral health issues. The therapist provides mental health consultation, assessment, psychoeducation, crisis intervention, and brief skills-based treatment. The therapist also focuses on identifying and preventing negative health outcomes due to, or exacerbated by, behavioral health concerns. In addition to the Integrated Healthcare Model, the BHC will help deliver specialized behavioral health services to outreach partnerships and provide other specialized behavioral health services for children and adults to meet the needs of the behavioral health department.
