Job Description

Job Overview We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Children Therapist to join our dynamic mental health team. In this vital role, you will provide specialized therapeutic services to children and their families, fostering emotional well-being and resilience. Your expertise will help children navigate developmental challenges, behavioral issues, and mental health concerns through evidence-based practices. Duties Conduct comprehensive intake assessments to evaluate children's mental health, developmental status, and behavioral needs. Develop individualized treatment plans utilizing therapies such as cognitive behavioral therapy, applied behavior analysis, art therapy, and other modalities tailored to each child's unique circumstances. Deliver individual and group counseling sessions focused on behavioral management, social skills development, trauma recovery (including PTSD care), and gender issues counseling. Collaborate with families, schools, and community agencies to coordinate care plans and ensure consistent support across environments. Collect and document detailed medical records, progress notes, and treatment outcomes in compliance with HIPAA regulations and medical documentation standards. Utilize crisis intervention techniques to manage urgent situations effectively while maintaining safety for clients and staff. Engage in case management activities including diagnostic evaluations, patient assessments, and treatment follow-ups to monitor progress and adjust interventions as needed. Experience Proven experience working with children with developmental disabilities, autism spectrum disorder, or other special needs populations. Strong background in behavioral health therapies such as applied behavior analysis (ABA), cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), and trauma-informed care. Familiarity with medical terminology, patient care procedures, and medical records management within a healthcare or community care setting. Experience in addiction counseling or working with individuals facing substance use challenges is a plus. Knowledge of crisis management strategies, conflict resolution, and gender issues counseling is highly desirable. Home & community care experience preferred to support children in various environments outside traditional clinical settings. Ability to perform data collection accurately for ongoing evaluation of treatment effectiveness.
