The Behavior Technician works directly with children diagnosed with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) and other developmental disabilities to help improve communication, social skills, daily living skills, academic readiness, and behavior management. The BT plays a critical role in helping clients reach meaningful goals that improve their quality of life while maintaining a safe, positive, and supportive learning environment. Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) Therapy is an evidence-based treatment that focuses on understanding and improving behaviors that are important to a child's development and independence. ABA uses positive reinforcement and scientifically proven teaching strategies to help children learn new skills and reduce behaviors that interfere with learning and daily functioning. ABA Therapy can help children develop: Communication and language skills Social and play skills Self-help and daily living skills Academic readiness skills Emotional regulation Independence and confidence At Key Pieces Therapy, ABA Therapy is individualized for each child and designed to meet their unique needs. Job Responsibilities Complete all required documentation legibly or electronically, appropriately and in a timely fashion in order to meet facility, physician and payer deadlines according Maintain open and respectful communication with coworkers, physicians, patients, family members, and third party payers at all times Participate in and present clinical inservices Monitors programs frequently and collaborate with BCBA to adjust targets based on progress through data analysis Communicates proactively with parents and staff regarding child's program Ensures clear understanding of current behavior plans Provide ABA treatment to children with autism in office, community, and school settings Work with families and provide parent education Collect behavioral data on treatment goals Organize and summarize behavioral data
