The therapist delivers evidence-based, home- and community-based interventions through the FFT-CW model, which combines family-system and cognitive-behavioral therapy to address abuse, neglect, and related risk factors. FFT-CW is designed for families with children up to age 18 who are involved with or at risk of involvement in the child welfare system, and services typically run for several months with intensive, multi-phase engagement. Location Lafayette and Acadiana Region, Louisiana Key Responsibilities Clinical Service Delivery Conduct FFT-CW assessments, including referral review and identification/engagement of key participants Deliver direct clinical treatment using methods aligned with FFT-CW principles, including CBT, ABA, art therapy, and other evidence-based modalities Provide individual, group, family, and child & youth counseling sessions Implement crisis intervention strategies to ensure client safety during emergencies Facilitate home-based behavioral interventions and community care activities supporting skill development for clients with neurodevelopmental disorders or disabilities Maintain a caseload of 10-12 families, meeting with each family 1-2 hours per week for a minimum average of 18 contact hours across the caseload Increase session frequency based on evolving family needs Assist families with clinical and concrete service referrals Documentation & Compliance Maintain accurate medical documentation, EHR entries, and case notes per HIPAA and clinical standards Submit all FFT-CW assessment documentation before entering the behavior change phase Complete progress notes within 24-48 hours of service delivery Complete Freedom of Choice documentation within 48-72 hours of signature Provide urgent critical incident information via phone or email within two hours of occurrence Collaboration & Training Coordinate with families, caregivers, educators, and other professionals for holistic case management Participate in all FFT-CW training, supervision, and consultation activities, including weekly supervision Educate referral sources and stakeholders on the FFT-CW model, serving as clinical lead Engage in ongoing professional development (social work, addiction counseling, conflict management, cultural competency) Additional Requirements Work flexible hours, including evenings, and support the 24-hour on-call system Provide statistical data on services rendered and participate in program evaluation Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor, HR, or Executive Management Respond respectfully and positively to diversity among staff and service populations Abide by agency Code of Conduct and Code of Ethics Qualifications Master's degree in Psychology, Social Work, Counseling, or a related field with significant clinical experience in children and family services Bachelor's degree with significant clinical experience with children/family services may qualify at agency discretion Proven experience working with children and adolescents with developmental disabilities or neurodevelopmental disorders (e.g., ASD) Demonstrated expertise in behavioral health counseling, including trauma-informed care for PTSD or other mental health conditions Strong background in crisis management, conflict resolution, and behavioral management techniques within home or community environments Familiarity with medical terminology, medical records management, and HIPAA compliance Experience conducting diagnostic evaluations, patient assessments, and implementing ABA interventions Prior work involving family therapy, child & family counseling, or home & community care is highly desirable Ability to communicate effectively with diverse populations, demonstrating cultural competency and sensitivity to individual needs Key Results Areas Clinical Deliver FFT-CW-compliant assessment and treatment, maintain caseload standards, support families with referrals and concrete services, and maintain accurate program records. Customer Relations Maintain professional conduct with stakeholders and referral sources, uphold ethical codes, and take a lead clinical role in educating partners on the FFT-CW model. Additional Work Requirements Meet all documentation deadlines, provide timely critical incident reporting, maintain EHR entries in accordance with treatment goals, and support flexible scheduling including on-call coverage.
