Full-Time Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP)
DBT Therapist Description :
The DBT Institute of Michigan is seeking a full-time Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP) DBT Therapists to join our growing IOP team serving adolescents and adults. Our programs provide comprehensive Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) across multiple levels of care, including residential, PHP, IOP, and outpatient services. We are committed to delivering high-adherence DBT while fostering a supportive, collaborative clinical environment. This is an excellent opportunity for clinicians who are passionate about working with high-risk clients, providing skills-based treatment, and growing their expertise in evidence-based care.
Position Overview :
IOP Therapists provide structured DBT treatment to clients in our Intensive Outpatient Programs. Clinicians work closely within a consultation team model and deliver a combination of group therapy, individual therapy, and DBT skills coaching.
Primary Responsibilities:
Facilitate DBT Skills Training Groups Provide twice-a-week individual therapy to assigned clients Conduct risk assessments and crisis management Provide in-between session telephonic skills coaching to assigned clients Collaborate with families (particular with adolescent program) and provide family therapy when needed Participate in weekly DBT Consultation Team Meetings Complete clinical documentation and treatment planning Coordinate care with referring providers and family members Maintain adherence to evidence-based
DBT Ideal Candidate :
We are looking for clinicians that: Are passionate about working with high-risk populations Enjoy co-leading groups and structured treatment environments Value team collaboration and consultation Are committed to providing and growing in evidence-based
DBT Education/Experience and Other Requirements :
Master's Degree or PsyD/PhD in Social Work, Psychology or Counseling from an Accredited College/University Licensed as a Mental Health Practitioner or Professional Level in the State of Michigan (fully licensed practitioners are preferred; however limited licensed practitioners are encouraged to apply as well) Has never had license suspended or revoked by any professional licensing board Wiling to work some evenings to meet the needs of clients and their families Willing to obtain and successfully complete comprehensive DBT training Ability to communicate accurately and effectively in both in writing and verbally Must be able to work well with others Pass a background check as well as verification of professional license and malpractice insurance
