Job Description:
We are seeking compassionate and licensed Mental Health Counselors to provide therapeutic services to residents in nursing homes. This role empowers individuals as they help the elderly community navigate life's challenges, including emotional support, social issues, and managing mental health challenges such as depression, anxiety, grief, and cognitive decline. Key Responsibilities:
Provide individual and group therapy sessions to nursing home residents. Assess client's needs, situations, strengths, and support networks to determine their goals. Conduct mental health assessments and develop personalized treatment plans. Collaborate with nursing staff, social workers, and families to ensure comprehensive care. Educate staff and family members on coping strategies and available services. Advocate for clients by ensuring they receive necessary services and support. Maintain accurate and confidential client records in accordance with state and federal regulations. Participate in interdisciplinary team meetings to review residents' progress.
Qualifications:
Master's degree in Counseling, Psychology, Social Work , or related field. Licensed as an LMHC, LPC, LCSW, or equivalent in the state you reside. Minimum of 1 year of experience working with elderly populations, preferably in a nursing home, assisted living, or long-term care setting preferred. Strong interpersonal and communication skills. Able to work independently and collaboratively in a supportive team environment. Understanding of geriatric mental health issues such as dementia, depression, and anxiety. Experience in crisis management and trauma-informed care is a plus.
