Child Therapist - LATINX Carousel Child Advocacy Center Wilmington, NC Job Details Full-time $58,000 - $62,000 a year 9 hours ago Benefits Mileage reimbursement Disability insurance Health insurance Dental insurance Paid time off Vision insurance Life insurance Retirement plan Qualifications Fluent Spanish Childhood development Client rapport building Group therapy Trauma response Master's degree Working with children Working with families Child & family counseling Full Job Description Job Summary The Child Therapist/Community Liaison (LATINX) provides evidence-based, trauma-informed mental health therapy services to children who have experienced physical or sexual abuse, with a specialized focus on Hispanic/Latino children and families. This role supports Carousel Child Advocacy Center (CCAC) outcomes by collaborating with multidisciplinary teams (MDTs), offering clinical consultation to staff and volunteers, and maintaining accurate, timely documentation in compliance with Medicaid and CCAC standards. The position also supports overall CCAC operations by managing therapy referrals, providing crisis intervention as needed, and assisting with general office duties. This role requires strong knowledge of child development, trauma-informed care, and group dynamics, as well as the ability to build rapport with children, families, medical providers, students, volunteers, multidisciplinary professionals, and the broader community, while accurately documenting observations and services provided. Education and Experience 
Requirements :
Master's Degree or higher in social work or counseling. Cultural and linguistic competence in Spanish Language. Three years' experience in public or non-profit victim-centered, child protective services, and/or criminal justice system . Equivalent combination of education and experience.
Preferred Education and Experience:
Licensed as an
LCMHC, LCSW, LMFT
in North Carolina.
Skill Set:
Knowledge, training and experience in individual/group therapy, specifically for children. Knowledge, training and experience in child development, crime victims, trauma and crisis intervention. Training in Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TFCBT), Child and Family Traumatic Stress Intervention (CFTSI), Child and Parent Psychotherapy (CPP), play therapy, Problem Sexual Behavior Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (PSBCBT), or equivalent. Knowledge and experience developing/implementing/working with multi-systemic community partnerships.
Maintains credentials by:
