Job Description

Overview We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Child Therapist to join our dynamic mental health team. In this vital role, you will provide expert therapeutic services to children and their families, fostering emotional well-being and resilience. Your work will directly impact the lives of children with diverse needs, including developmental disabilities, autism spectrum disorder, trauma, and behavioral challenges. This position offers an exciting opportunity to utilize your clinical skills in a supportive environment committed to holistic care and positive outcomes. Responsibilities Conduct comprehensive patient assessments and diagnostic evaluations to identify individual needs and develop tailored treatment plans. Deliver evidence-based therapies such as cognitive behavioral therapy, behavioral therapy, applied behavior analysis, art therapy, EMDR, and motivational interviewing to children and families. Manage case documentation accurately, including medical records, treatment notes, and progress reports in compliance with HIPAA regulations. Coordinate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure integrated care through case management and collaborative planning. Facilitate individual and group counseling sessions focused on mental health issues like PTSD, gender issues, crisis intervention, and conflict management. Engage in crisis management and crisis intervention when necessary to support children experiencing acute emotional distress. Support families through intake processes, patient care planning, and ongoing behavioral health support while maintaining strict confidentiality. Skills Proven experience working with children in home or community care settings, demonstrating strong understanding of child development and family dynamics. Expertise in behavioral health techniques such as applied behavior analysis (ABA), cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), and social work practices. Ability to collect and analyze data for treatment progress monitoring and outcome measurement. Knowledge of medical terminology, medical documentation standards, and electronic health record systems aligned with HIPAA compliance. Skilled in conducting diagnostic evaluations for autism spectrum disorder (ASD), developmental disabilities, PTSD care, and other mental health conditions. Experience providing addiction counseling or working with individuals with disabilities enhances your versatility as a therapist. Excellent communication skills for individual or group counseling sessions along with conflict management and crisis intervention capabilities.
