Job Description

Position Statement:
The After Stay Clinician is responsible for clinical duties that support youth and families during and after a stay in a Children's Crisis Residence. The After Stay Clinician collaborates with Program Clinicians, i.e., the treatment team leads, who serve as the primary clinician during a youth's stay. Upon a youth's discharge from the Children's Crisis Residence the After Stay Clinician assumes primary responsibility. Family therapy and individual therapy are provided during a stay and for up to 90 days after discharge. Support for youth and families may also feature facilitating support groups for youth or families, linking families to services, or caregiver skills training. Therapeutic services are provided in the manner that most suits the needs of each family; in-home, community-based, telehealth, and traditional office are typical settings. This position is scheduled in a manner that best accommodates client, department, and agency business needs; weekend and evening shifts are typical.
Responsibilities:
Perform clinical assessments and offer diagnostic insight to families and other stakeholders. Participate in the development and implementation of treatment plans. Provide family therapy during the youth's stay and after they are discharged. Provide individual therapy during the youth's stay and after they are discharged. Provide therapeutic support during crisis. Collaborate with all individuals/agencies associated with youth. This includes inter- and intra-agency meetings or proceedings. Complete contemporaneous documentation utilizing an Electronic Health Record system. Other Duties as

Experience using Electronic Health Records to meet charting deadlines established by regulation or policy. Maintain productive and professional relationships with all agency staff, children, parents and the community. Maintain the highest of ethical standards and conduct.
Required Education and Experience :
Master's Degree in Social Work or other related field (e.g., Mental Health Counseling, Creative Arts Therapy, Marriage and Family Therapy) from an accredited institution, minimally. License to practice therapy by New York State, preferred. License-eligible applicants may be considered.
Essential Job Qualifications:
Ability to lift 25 pounds without assistance. Ability to sit, squat, crouch and stand for elongated periods of time Ability to lift arms over head in upward reaching motion. Ability to walk up and downstairs up to several times per day. Valid driver's license and auto insurance, free from major infractions and deemed acceptable to our insurance carrier. Varying levels of travel as determined by departmental needs may be required with this position.
