- Excellence School-Based Therapist Summary The School-Based Therapist provides behavioral health assessment, counseling, crisis intervention, and therapeutic services to children and adolescents within the school setting.
Core Competencies Clinical Excellence Communication Professionalism Collaboration Time Management Quality Improvement Customer Service Requirements:
Requirements Success Requirements Education/Experience Master's degree in Social Work, Counseling, Marriage and Family Therapy, Psychology, or a related behavioral health discipline preferred. Bachelor level LSW applicants can be considered. Experience providing therapy to children, adolescents, and families is preferred. School-based or community behavioral health experience strongly preferred. Language Skills Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Reasoning Ability Ability to exercise sound clinical judgment and solve complex problems. Computer Skills Proficiency with Microsoft Office and electronic health record systems. Certificates, Licenses, Registrations Valid Ohio LSW or LPC required. Higher behavioral health licensure designation preferred. Other Applicable Requirements Knowledge of trauma-informed care, child development, and evidence-based therapeutic interventions. Physical Demands Frequent standing, walking, sitting, and occasional lifting up to 25 pounds. Work Environment Primary work is performed in assigned school buildings with occasional travel.
