Job Description

Hopewell Health Centers is a nationally accredited federally qualified health and community mental health center with 23 sites across TEN counties throughout Southeastern Ohio (Athens, Franklin, Gallia, Hocking, Jackson, Meigs, Perry, Ross, Vinton, and Washington). We are currently seeking an Infant Early Childhood Mental Health Consultant or Therapist to work with our Infant and Early Childhood team. As an IECMH Consultant you will provide consultation and treatment to help babies and children succeed in home and early learning environments. I/ECMHC use consultation to develop strategies that primary care providers, home visitors and early learning professionals can use to respond to challenging behaviors, as well as strategies that support the healthy social-emotional development of all children. IECMHC use treatment services with children ages 0-6 and their families in the home or clinic setting, using elements of play in therapy with participation of caregivers. With reflective supervision and support, IECMC use trauma-informed and evidence-based practices such as Parent Child Interaction Therapy (PCIT), Child-Parent Psychotherapy (CPP), and Trauma Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-BCT). Responsibilities of the Mental Health Consultant/Therapist include but are not limited to: Establish and maintain a professional working relationship with partners in the community Design and implement programmatic, classroom-specific, and/or individual child/family consultation plans in conjunction with early childhood staff and parents. Provide quality, person and family-centered, medically necessary, rehabilitative, culturally-competent therapy face-to-face with individuals, families, and groups to include, but not limited to: diagnostic assessment and treatment of mental, emotional, and substance abuse disorders. Participates in reflective supervision, including being on time and coming prepared to discuss experiences or dilemmas, maintaining an openness to feedback, developing awareness of internal response to work, exploring impact of internal beliefs on the work, allowing support and reflecting on the supervision experience to enhance professional practice and personal growth. •Full job description is available upon request or at time of interview• What do we require from our Mental Health Consultants/Therapist? Eligible to work in the United States Bachelor's degree in mental health related field; Licensure in mental health; Education & experience working with families & working across systems of care (e.g. Medication Assisted Treatment, addiction, medical facilities/WIC, Early Intervention, Help Me Grow, Head Start, child care settings); Expectation to work towards being an ECMH Consultant through the Ohio Professional Development Network (OPDN) Registry; Ability to work independently and align work with team & relate to a variety of professionals and parents of young children; Awareness of and sensitivity to the cultural diversity of the population served, implicit bias & its impact on care; Commitment to the promotion of social justice and ability to promote diversity equity & inclusion within programs; Ability to work independently, multi-task on multiple initiatives in parallel, & relate to a variety of professionals & caregivers.
Mental Health Consultant/Therapist Preferred Requirements:
Master's degree in a mental health field; Independent licensure in mental health; Education/experience working with children birth to age 5 and their families; Experience with working across early childhood systems (e.g. medical facilities/WIC, Early Intervention, Help Me Grow, child care settings); Experience in providing training to Early Care and education staff and or medical personnel.
