The Therapist I is a member of a multidisciplinary team responsible for ensuring the incorporation of psychosocial and environmental needs in the recovery process of the individual receiving services. The Therapist I provide clinical guidance, individual, family and group psychotherapy. This position is required to work hours that coincide with program needs, including day, evening, and/or weekend hours. Required Education/Experience Education Master's degree in a Human Services field Experience One year experience in a psychiatric/partial hospital environment. Knowledge of mental health disorders and developmental disabilities. Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with consumers, families, and staff from a variety of cultures and social backgrounds. Required Licenses/Certifications Valid driver's license Essential Job-Related Responsibilities Conduct group therapy according to a stage of group development. This includes establishing the agenda, identifying issues to be discussed by the group, and facilitating communication among group members. Aid consumers in meeting psycho-social / environmental needs utilizing a supportive casework approach . Develop individualized treatment plans and establish treatment goals and objectives. Revise treatment plans on an ongoing basis as needed. Access, implement and maintain special regimes with suicidal, homicidal, elopement risk and other high-risk behaviors of consumers. Develop and implement a discharge and aftercare plan in collaboration with the consumers, family, psychiatrist, team and relevant outside resources. Document consumer progress through implementation of progress notes, record consumer progress and significant events in the notes program Performs other related duties as assigned.
